VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER FINISH 3-0 IN GEORGETOWN TOURNAMENT

Varsity Girls Soccer Finish 3-0 in Georgetown Tournament

This past week, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team went 3-0, beating three playoff teams from last year, in the Georgetown Governor's Cup. Thursday afternoon, the Leopards beat Rouse High School 5-1 after a dominating performance in the first half. Goals were scored by Emmy Wood, Hannah Dunlap, Tatum Chester (2), and Reagan Matacale. Assists by Reagan Matacale (2), Hannah Dunlap, Callan Snider, and Amiya Callicutt. Friday morning, in wet conditions, the Leopards beat Whitehouse 1-0 after scoring an early goal and staying strong defensively to keep the clean sheet. The lone goal in the game was scored by freshman Emmy Wood (unassisted). Hailey Downing was in goal to preserve the clean sheet with help from defenders Jordan Watson, Katie Irby, Avery Templin, Callan Snider, and Maggie Manders. Saturday morning the Leopards beat College Station 1-0 with a great performance in the second half going against strong winds. The lone goal was scored by Emmy Wood again and assisted by Katie Welch. Hailey Downing picked up her 4th clean sheet of the season with help from defenders Jordan Watson, Amiya Callicutt, Katie Irby, Callan Snider, and Maggie Manders. First home game of the season is Friday night, 1/24, at 7:15 PM vs. The Colony at Leopard Stadium.
