Boys Varsity Baseball beats Mckinney North 5 – 3

Lovejoy ended district play with win over McKinney North 5-3 to earn CO-Champ honors of district 10-5A.

Lovejoy scored one run in the first inning when Michael DiFiore grounded out, scoring one run. Lovejoy pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. When Jacob Terwilliger singled, Cameron Pool walked and Zach Smith grounded out. Smith had 2 RBI on the evening.

Harrison Durow was the winning pitcher. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six and walking one. Jacob Terwilliger started the game for Lovejoy. He allowed two hits and three runs over three and a third innings.

Luke Finn (2B), DiFiore (RBI), Terwilliger, Zach Smith (2 RBI), and Jordan Yoder each collected one hit to lead Lovejoy.

Lovejoy improves to 21-8 on the season and 10-5 in district play. Lovejoy will start round 1 of the playoffs against Frisco Reedy next week.
